Polysaccharides

Polysaccharides are complex sugars which, due to their physicochemical properties, are used in the cosmetics industry. Polysaccharides are e.g. hyaluronic acid , chitin, glycogen, starch, cellulose, heparin.

Polysaccharides are also called polymers because they act as building blocks of living organisms. They are a component of the cell walls, and also support the work of lymphocytes, which thanks to them have the ability to recognize individual bacteria.

Polysaccharides have a special ability to create a protective film in the skin that prevents the loss of water from the epidermis , therefore they are very often a component of cosmetics with moisturizing properties.

Below you will find cosmetics with different types of polysaccharides ▼
