Urea

Urea is a natural substance found in the human body. It belongs to the group of humectants, i.e. substances with a high capacity to absorb water. In skincare products, urea is used as an ingredient that helps to moisturise, soften and exfoliate dead skin, as well as to strengthen the skin's natural protective barrier. The concentration of urea in cosmetics depends on its use and can range from 2% in moisturisers and regenerating creams, to 40-50% in skin exfoliants.
