Lipids

Lipids are compounds that make up the skin's protective layer. They are a natural component of the skin and are responsible for its proper hydration and regulation of the water and fat balance. They moisturize, nourish and regenerate the skin, protecting it against drying out and maintaining its good condition.

Preparations with lipids are extremely important in the care of the skin, especially the epidermis with damaged hydro-lipid coat, e.g. as a result of atopic dermatitis. With an insufficient amount of lipids, the skin becomes excessively dry, becomes rough and coarse, and prone to micro-damage and cracking.

Ceramides are lipids - the most important ingredients of the so-called intercellular cement, i.e. a binder that fills the intercellular spaces in the stratum corneum. An important component of the intercellular binder is also squalene , whose task is to maintain optimal skin hydration.
